SALES ASSISTANT VACANCY

We are looking to employ a RETAIL ASSISTANT

8 hours per week paid at National Living Wage £11.44 per hour
Two four hour shifts 9.30 am to 1.30 pm and 1pm to 5.00 pm (Shift days to be discussed at interview)
Holidays pro rata and staff discount will apply

We have formed a community interest company which is not for profit where Directors and volunteers work unpaid, and any profit is given to local charities. We are based in Sherwood, selling unpackaged food and non-food items and are passionate about helping to reduce packaging and avoid waste, and hence do our bit towards a more sustainable environment.

We are looking for a Retail Assistant who believes in the above philosophy. Their main duties are to welcome customers into the shop and offer help if needed. The day to day running of the shop will include opening and closing, restocking, and keeping track of products that need reordering.

Skills and Knowledge Required

Good understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

Good understanding of the day to day running of a shop

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Good understanding of Web based communications

Good numeracy and literacy skills

Being self-motivated and confident

It will be required that the successful applicant will complete the NVQ on-line hygiene course
