SUMMARY:  Christmas is coming and at Waste Nott we're well stocked to help you plan a sustainable festive season and tread lightly on our planet.

Christmas is coming, and we’re well stocked to help you spread eco-friendly cheer this festive season.

At this time of year, it can be easy to lose sight of sustainability. From extravagant decor to needless spending, the pressure to provide the ‘perfect’ Christmas can lead to overconsumption and excessive waste.

Waste Nott is here to help you plan a sustainable Christmas, cut out unnecessary packaging, choose eco-friendly options for your festivities, and tread lightly on our planet.

Prakash Ross, co-founder of Waste Nott, says “Christmas doesn’t have to cost the earth. A lot of people feel pressurised to overspend in this season, and overspend. While supermarkets encourage people to purchase in bulk, at Waste Nott you can buy as much or as little as you want and you won’t be penalized for only buying a small amount.

“Sadly the festive season can be synonymous with waste. Huge amounts of packaging are produced during this period, much of which ends up in landfill. By buying ingredients from a zero waste shop where you bring your own containers, you’re helping reduce the burden of waste on the planet and on your own household bin. And it’s a good feeling knowing that you’re not conforming to pressure from big business to over-consume.”

By buying gifts for friends and family from our shop, you are also helping to spread the word about the benefit of zero waste products and giving people a chance to try something different.

Eco-friendly gifts

New in our range of sustainable gifts are these small items that would make perfect stocking fillers:

  • A stylish, rustic olive wood soap dish, hand-carved from a single piece of olive wood from a retired tree that has stopped producing olives. Each dish is unique.
  • Natural body loofah which is a 100% biodegradable alternative to plastic exfoliator pads.
  • Mini hairbrush made of sustainable beech wood, with anti-static hornbeam wooden pins.
  • Wooden spindle for drizzling honey or maple syrup,
  • Small spoons made of sustainable maple, great for measuring dry ingredients in the kitchen such as sugar, salt, herbs or spices. It also makes a perfect travel spoon for reducing plastic waste on the go.

Sustainable packaging

Our stylish glass jars are a great way to present oils and teas, making your gift look beautiful in a container that can be reused time and time again.

We also sell recycled twine for wrapping.

Treats

Treat yourself and others with a selection of tasty titbits including delicious chocolate covered peanuts and hazelnuts, crystallised ginger plus savour snacks like Bombay Mix and chilli chick peas.

And we’ll be adding more snacks as the season gets underway.

Vouchers

And don’t forget our Waste Nott gift vouchers. Sometimes it can feel like an uphill battle trying to find the ideal gift. Vouchers offer a solution that’s both thoughtful and practical, allowing the person to choose what they really want or need, in their own time.
